Who this suits in Mexico
- A Mexican manufacturing or services company supplying export customers, whose customers expect documented HR and workplace practice.
- A Mexican plant or office of a foreign group that needs local HR documents consistent with head-office standards.
- A growing company, such as a technology or logistics business, that wants a handbook, onboarding and review process before hiring more.
- A family-led business moving from personal management to defined roles, written policies and consistent supervision.
What we do for businesses in Mexico
HR audit
We review contracts, policies, staff files, onboarding steps and management practice against a clear checklist. You receive a written report, with questions for your Mexican adviser marked separately.

We draft a handbook and core policies in plain English. Legal wording and entitlements stay open until your adviser confirms them. Spanish versions are prepared by your translator or adviser.

If you have no full-time HR lead, we can act as an outside HR manager on an ongoing basis. We keep the process calendar and support managers remotely, flagging legal questions to your adviser.

Plant and office under one roof.
Factory supervisors and office managers often follow different habits. One set of clear processes, with variants for each group, keeps treatment consistent.
Export customer expectations.
Foreign customers and parent companies often audit workplace practice. Written procedures and tidy records make those reviews calmer.
Shift work and scheduling.
Rotating shifts and overtime need clear rules for requests, approvals and records. Without them, supervisors improvise and staff compare notes.
Turnover in operational roles.
Some roles lose people quickly. A solid first-week plan, a named buddy and regular check-ins reduce early exits.
Supervisor skills.
Many supervisors are promoted for technical skill and have no training in managing people. Short, practical sessions on feedback and fairness make a visible difference.
Foreign head office, local practice.
Global policies may not fit local expectations or working patterns. Adapting them with your adviser keeps the group standard without confusing local teams.
Local rules your adviser confirms
These are Mexican regimes an employer should confirm with a qualified local adviser. We do not state rates, limits or notice periods. We design the process around each point once your adviser confirms it.
| Topic | What we do about it |
|---|---|
| Federal Labor Law | The main framework for employment. We design the HR process and templates around it. Your adviser confirms how it applies to your business. |
| Individual employment contracts | The written terms of the employment relationship. We create contract and onboarding templates. Your adviser confirms the required content and the Spanish wording. |
| Collective bargaining agreements | Some workplaces are covered by union agreements, and recent reforms affect how they work. Your adviser confirms which apply. We build the confirmed terms into policies. |
| Internal work regulations | Written rules of conduct and procedure that many employers keep. We design the HR process and an English reference version. Your adviser confirms the Spanish rules. |
| Working hours, overtime and leave | Hours, overtime, vacation and other leave. We draft the policy structure and request flow. Figures go in only after your adviser confirms them. |
| Profit sharing and year-end bonus | Employee profit-sharing and bonus obligations. Your adviser or payroll provider confirms and handles them. We add the steps that feed them. |
| Social security and housing contributions | Employer registration and contributions through the relevant institutions. Your adviser or payroll provider handles these. We add the joiner and leaver steps that feed them. |
| Outsourcing and subcontracting rules | Rules on using third parties to provide labour have changed in recent years. Your adviser confirms what applies. We design the supplier and contractor checks around their guidance. |
GullyHR does not give legal advice. We design the HR process around a rule once your qualified local adviser has confirmed it.
How remote delivery works
- 1
Scoping call
A video call in the overlap hours to understand your business, team size, managers and the issues you want solved. We agree scope in writing.
- 2
Document review
You share contracts, handbooks, forms and sample records in a shared folder. Where documents are in Spanish, you or your translator summarise them for us. We list gaps and questions for your adviser.
- 3
Written findings
We send a written report in plain English with priorities, then go through it on a call so you can ask questions before design starts.
- 4
Design and drafting
We draft process maps, policies, templates and checklists in English in shared documents. You comment, we revise, and legal points stay marked for your adviser.
- 5
Handover and support
We hand over final documents with a short guide for managers. Spanish versions are prepared by your translator or adviser. We can support the process remotely afterwards.
What we do not do
- We do not give legal advice or opinions on Mexican labor law.
- We do not run payroll or make social security or tax filings.
- We do not handle visa or work permit applications.
- We do not supply contract staff or run background verification.
- We do not claim a Mexican office, registration or past Mexican clients.
