Train Your People on the Product, the Process and the Conduct the Role Demands
Plan training from what each role needs to know and do, not from whatever the calendar allows. Our learning and development services help banks, NBFCs, insurers and advisory firms map skills and certifications by role, find the gaps and deliver training in a form a branch can attend. You decide the priorities, and we build the plan and keep the records.

Not sure what you need? Tell us about your business in six short steps and we will come to the first meeting prepared.

Is Training Planned From Need or From Habit?
In financial services, people are trained constantly and rarely on purpose. Product launches, process changes and certification renewals pile up, branches release staff when business allows and nobody can show which employee has been trained in what. The cost is felt as errors, complaints and officers who stall.
We help you build a training plan from the roles and the gaps.
You may be experiencing:
- Product training given at launch to whoever could attend, with no follow-up for those who missed it.
- Certification and renewal dates tracked in a branch notebook or in one person's memory.
- New sales officers learning the product on the job, from whichever senior colleague is nearest.
- Collections and customer-facing staff untrained in how to speak with a distressed borrower or an upset customer.
- Training attendance recorded, but no check on whether the person can now do the task.
- Branch managers promoted for sales results with no training in managing a team.
- A training budget spent by each department separately, with no common view of the gaps.
What we can help with
Our Learning and Development Services for BFSI Businesses
Skill and Certification Matrix
List for each role the product knowledge, process skills, certifications and conduct training it needs, so requirements are visible by role and by branch.
Training Needs Analysis
Compare the matrix with what each person has completed, and list the gaps by branch, role and product, using assessments and manager input.
Training Calendar and Capacity
Build a calendar that suits branch operations, with sessions timed to avoid peak hours, and with make-up sessions for those who cannot attend.
Induction and Role Training
Design the product, process and conduct training for new joiners across branch, field and head-office roles, and the order in which they take it.
Certification Tracking
Keep a record of certification status, validity and renewal dates by employee, with reminders to the person and the manager before expiry.
Branch-Level Trainers and Coaching
Prepare experienced staff to coach new joiners, with a short guide and a way to confirm that each task has been learned.
Leadership and Manager Development
Plan development for branch heads, team leaders and area managers in supervision, feedback, hiring and handling conduct issues.
Training Effectiveness
Define how you will know a session worked, using assessments, observation and the measures a manager already tracks, such as errors, cancellations or complaints.
The deliverables
What You Receive

Step by step
How We Work
Learn What Each Role Needs
We speak with business, product, operations and compliance leads to list what each role must know and do.
Map Today's Position
We compare the list with training records, certificates and assessments, and mark what is missing or undocumented.
Plan and Prioritise
We rank the gaps by their effect on customers, errors and sales, and build a calendar that branches can follow.
Deliver and Record
We help you run sessions, assessments and coaching, and keep completion records in one place.
Check What Changed
We follow up with the measures you already hold. Before work starts we record where you stand, and we report against that baseline.
The difference
Training That Shows in the Work
A planned approach helps you:
We do not promise outcomes. We record a baseline before work starts, covering the share of staff with current certification, training completion by role, time to reach a working level and errors or complaints linked to product knowledge, and report against it, so you can see what changed and what did not.
- See required skills and certifications by role.
- Find the gaps before they show up as errors.
- Time training around branch operations.
- Keep certification and renewal dates under review.
- Give new joiners a defined learning path.
- Check whether a session changed the work.

How it usually shows up in banking, financial services and insurance
A BFSI workforce must be certified, trained on products and updated on rules, and the training must be provable. Mandatory courses are often a click-through with a quiz that has not changed in years, so completion proves attendance and not understanding. New products are announced with a note instead of a session with practice and a test. The training calendar and the licence calendar are kept separately. Managers are expected to coach their teams without being shown how to observe a sales conversation.
Common challenges
Where it goes wrong in banking, financial services and insurance
Training is a click-through
Completion is recorded and understanding is not tested.
Product launches are announced, not taught
A one-page note replaces a session with questions and practice.
Licences and certifications are tracked separately
The training calendar and the licence calendar do not meet.
Managers are not taught to coach
They are expected to develop their teams without being shown how.
A better process
What a working version looks like
- 01
Test understanding, not attendance
Scenarios and short checks after each session, so completion means the person can do it. The learning and development process holds the plan.
- 02
Teach each launch properly
A live or recorded session, practice with scripts and a test before selling a new product.
- 03
Join training and licensing
One calendar showing which licences, certifications and mandatory courses are due for each person. A person due to renew a licence next quarter should also be booked into the refresher it needs.
- 04
Teach managers to coach
A short programme on observing a sales conversation, giving feedback and recording it.
What to check this week
- Look at the last mandatory course. Can a person pass without understanding it?
- Ask three officers how they learnt about the most recent product launch.
- Check whether the licence calendar and the training calendar are one document.
- Find out whether managers have been shown how to coach a sales conversation.
- Ask the training head which mandatory content has not been updated in more than a year.
Confirm with a qualified professional. What applies depends on your establishment, your state and your sector, and it changes. This page describes a practice; it does not state a legal position.

Questions on this, in banking, financial services and insurance
We can design the structure, assessments and facilitation guides, and work with your product and compliance teams, who remain the source of the content. Where outside trainers are needed, we help you brief them.
Yes. We help you record each employee's certification, validity and renewal date, and set reminders. Which certifications a role needs is something you and your advisers confirm; we do not give legal advice.
By planning shorter sessions that can be delivered in the branch or remotely, backed by coaching from experienced colleagues and a sign-off step, so a remote branch is not trained second-hand.
By choosing a measure before the session, such as errors, cancellations or time to first sale, and checking it afterwards. Attendance alone shows that people sat through a session and little more.
Training records, calendars, assessments and reminders can be configured on the GullyHR platform or on your own system, using the matrix we build with you.
Yes. A smaller firm can begin with a matrix for a handful of roles and a basic renewal tracker, then add more as the need appears.
Use scenarios drawn from real cases, test understanding with short checks and update content when rules or products change. A click-through course proves attendance and little else.
A session with practice, a short test and a script for disclosures. Sales should start after the test, not after the announcement.
Keep records of what was taught, the test results, the date and the follow-up for those who did not pass. Evidence of checking matters as much as evidence of attendance.
Yes, on coaching. A manager who can observe a sales conversation and give feedback improves conduct and results at once.

The general method — what learning and development covers, the questions it answers and what an engagement produces — is the same whatever the sector, and is set out on the learning and development process page. What is above is the part that differs for banking, financial services and insurance.
To run this in a system rather than on paper, see learning and development software.
