Hire Guards You Can Verify, Place and Keep
A guard's file is part of what you sell to the client, so hiring cannot be a rush from a gate. Our recruitment service sets up the route from a post's vacancy to a verified, trained guard on duty, and keeps a pool behind it for sudden gaps. We run the process or support your team in running it. You decide who is hired and where they are placed.

Not sure what you need? Tell us about your business in six short steps and we will come to the first meeting prepared.

Is Hiring Keeping Pace With Your Posts?
Security hiring is steady, high in volume and short on time. A vacancy is a post without cover, and the pressure to fill it quickly is the pressure that skips checks. Verification records and a clean joining file are what a client asks for after an incident, and they are hardest to build after the fact.
We help you build a route that is quick for the site and complete for the client file.
You may be experiencing:
- Vacancies passed on by phone from the site, with no record of the post, shift or who asked.
- Guards sent to a site while identity, address and background checks are still open.
- Most hires coming from a few contractors, with no view of who stays and who leaves.
- The same short chat used to screen a gate guard, an armed guard and a supervisor.
- A client's entry requirements, such as training certificates or medical forms, discovered only at the site gate.
- Offers accepted that do not turn into joinings, and joiners who walk away within weeks.
- Ex-servicemen, women guards or supervisors sought but not found through your present channels.
What we can help with
Our Recruitment Services for Security Agencies
Post-Wise Requisition
Create a simple requisition from the field: client, post, shift, category, start date and reason, such as new site, resignation or relief. Each vacancy gets an owner and a target date.
Role Profiles for Guards, Supervisors and Specialists
Write short profiles for unarmed guards, armed guards, lady guards, supervisors, control-room operators and fire or safety staff, listing the physical, language and certificate needs a client may ask for.
Sourcing Channels That Fit Guarding
Set up a mix of referrals from serving guards, ex-servicemen channels, local walk-in days, training institutes and job platforms. We track each source for the people it brings and how long they stay.
Screening for Reliability
Design a short routine covering documents, availability for long shifts, travel to the site and a simple conversation about conduct, with the final choice left to your operations team.
Verification Sequence Before Deployment
Fix the order of identity, address, police and previous-employer checks that your licence and clients expect, and the rule on who may deploy a person before each check is closed.
Start-Up Hiring Drives
Plan a hiring push for a new site counted back from go-live, with numbers by post, reserve candidates, verification lead time and induction slots.
Reliever and Standby Register
Keep a list of verified, inducted guards by area who can be sent at short notice, with a rule for how quickly a vacancy is filled from it.
Offer and Joining Follow-Up
Handle the offer, joining date, uniform measurements and reporting contact, and stay in touch with the candidate until the first week at the post is complete.

Step by step
How We Work
Look at Recent Hiring
We study recent vacancies, joiners and leavers by site and source, and see where time is lost between a request and a guard on duty.
Agree the Standards
We set profiles, screening steps and the order of checks, and agree what the site, head office and verification partner each sign off.
Source and Screen
We run sourcing and screening for agreed roles and sites, or support your team, and keep one tracker for every candidate.
Follow Checks to Closure
We chase documents and verification status, and coordinate offers, joining dates and induction with the site.
Report and Tune
Before work starts we record time to fill and early leavers, and we report against both each month so channels can be changed on evidence.
The difference
Make Guard Hiring Repeatable and Defensible
A defined hiring route helps you to:
We do not promise outcomes. We record a baseline before work starts, covering time to fill, guards deployed before checks closed, and joiners lost in the first weeks, and report against it, so you can see what changed and what did not.
- Know how many posts are vacant, where and for how long.
- Deploy only people whose checks are complete.
- See which sources supply guards who stay.
- Cut the scramble that comes before a contract start date.
- Replace no-shows and leavers from a ready list.
- Show a client a complete verification file when asked.

How it usually shows up in security services
Guard recruitment in agencies is usually driven by an open post and a client waiting. Requests arrive from field officers or the operations desk, often by call, and sourcing leans on referrals, walk-ins, ex-servicemen contacts, local labour sources and former guards. Screening is typically a short conversation and a look at physical fitness, with the verification file started afterwards. That order causes trouble. People are posted before identity, address and police verification are complete, or the file is complete but cannot be found when a client asks. Offers are loose on salary, deductions and posting location, so joiners find out later what the job actually involves. Acceptances do not always become joiners, and early leavers are rarely tracked back to the source that brought them. The agency ends up re-hiring for the same post repeatedly.
Common challenges
Where it goes wrong in security services
Requisitions arrive by phone
Nobody can say how many posts were open, for which site, or since when.
Verification starts after posting
Guards stand posts while their files are incomplete, and clients find out at audit.
Offers leave gaps
Salary, deductions, shift pattern and posting location are explained loosely, and the early leavers say so.
Sources are not compared
The agency cannot tell which channel brings guards who stay.
A better process
What a working version looks like
- 01
Raise every requirement on a short form
Site, post, shift, client conditions and start date, approved by operations. The recruitment process gives the route from requisition to joining.
- 02
Put verification before posting
Collect identity, address and previous employment papers at the offer stage, and start the checks at once, so the file is ready before the first shift.
- 03
Screen against the post
Check physical standards, language, previous experience and any role-specific need such as armed or lady-guard posts, using a simple scorecard.
- 04
State terms in writing
Give wage structure, deductions, uniform terms, shift pattern and posting location in the offer, in a language the joiner reads.
- 05
Track source against retention
Record who joined through which channel and whether they stayed, then put more effort into the sources that work.
What to check this week
- Find the last ten joiners and check that verification was complete at first posting.
- Ask how many open posts exist today and how long each has been open.
- Read a current offer and see if posting location and deductions are written.
- Compare referral joiners with walk-ins on how long each stayed.
- Check where verification files are kept and how quickly one can be produced.
Confirm with a qualified professional. What applies depends on your establishment, your state and your sector, and it changes. This page describes a practice; it does not state a legal position.

Questions on this, in security services
Yes. We organise requisitions by site and priority, keep one tracker for all candidates and coordinate sourcing, verification and induction, so no site is forgotten while another is rushed.
We screen against your profile and present the shortlist. Your operations head or site officer meets the candidates and decides, since they will manage the people placed. Our aim is to reduce the volume and the paperwork reaching them.
Checks can be handled through an agency you already use or one we discuss with you. We set the sequence and track status. Which checks apply to a post depends on your licence and your client, so confirm those with a qualified professional. GullyHR does not give legal advice.
By learning why they happen. We note source, site, distance from home, pay and the first-week experience of leavers, and share the pattern so you can change hiring or placement, not only replace the person.
For most agencies, yes. A leaver or no-show at a site is otherwise covered by a double shift. A small, verified, ready list costs something to maintain, and we help you weigh that cost against the cover it provides.
Yes. Requisitions, candidate stages and approvals can be set up on the GullyHR platform or on your own tool. We agree the stages first, so the system follows your process and not the other way round.
Treat completed verification as the gate for client posts, and use a clearly recorded interim arrangement only where the client has agreed to it.
Referrals from serving guards and rehires of good former guards often hold best, but test it against your own retention record rather than assuming.
Keep a verified pipeline ahead of contract needs, so that a vacancy is filled from a prepared list instead of a search that starts from nothing.
Wage structure, deductions, shift pattern, posting location, uniform terms and the probation period, plainly worded and acknowledged by the joiner.
Fill Your Posts With People You Can Stand Behind
If vacancies are filled in a rush and files are tidied later, begin with one route that serves both the site and the client.

The general method — what recruitment and talent acquisition covers, the questions it answers and what an engagement produces — is the same whatever the sector, and is set out on the workforce and recruitment process page. What is above is the part that differs for security services.
