HR reporting and analytics for Aquaculture companies: one view of people across sites
Head office cannot plan what it cannot see. A simple monthly view of headcount, vacancies, exits and training by site gives aquaculture leaders a base for decisions.

Each site keeps its own list in its own way. One gives headcount by shift, another by role, a third by contract type. When head office asks for a number, someone spends two days collecting it and the answer is already out of date.
A monthly one-page view fixes this. Agree a short list of items: headcount by role and type, vacancies and their age, joiners and leavers, training completed, and open cases. Each site sends the same figures in the same form by a set date. Head office reads them together and asks questions. Over a few months, trends appear: a site with many exits, a vacancy that never closes, or training that keeps slipping.
How to set it up
1. Agree the list of measures
Start with headcount, vacancies, joiners, leavers and training, defined in plain words. Keep it to one page.
2. Use one template for every site
Same rows, same names and same date. Share with site managers and explain what each row means.
3. Collect on a fixed date
Each site sends by the fifth of the month. Head office checks totals against last month for oddities.
4. Read it together
Spend half an hour in the monthly review on what moved and why. Note actions and owners.
5. Link to decisions
Use the numbers in workforce planning and in budget talks. Drop measures nobody uses.
Check these first
Before changing anything, find out what is true today. These take an afternoon and use your own records.
- Ask three sites for headcount by role and compare the formats.
- Find the oldest vacancy at each site.
- Count leavers in the last quarter and the reasons given.
- Check who reads the monthly figures and what they do.

Questions owners ask
Headcount by role and type, vacancies and how long they have been open, joiners, leavers and training. Add others only when someone will act on them.
Give a simple template, explain the reason and read the reports so people see they matter. Fix unclear definitions early. Remote sites may need a phone call or a visit the first time.
No. A shared spreadsheet is enough to begin. The discipline of a fixed date and a common template matters more than the tool.
