Performance management process for CCTV retailers: reviews built on finished jobs and callbacks
In a CCTV shop the real measure of a person is a camera that still records months later. A review process that looks at finished jobs and callbacks rewards the work customers value.

Share your requirementsWhy performance management process matters in CCTV retailers
Most CCTV retailers judge counter staff by sales and technicians by jobs completed. Both are easy to count and both can mislead. A fast installer may leave a poor job. A good seller may promise more than the site allows. Callbacks arrive after the review is done, so the people who cause them rarely hear about it.
A review process adds finished-job measures: callbacks traced to the person, customer comments after installation, accuracy of quotes against actual work and safe working. It is run quarterly with a short conversation, not an annual form. People get a fair picture, the owner sees which habits to coach and good work is named.
How to set it up
1. Choose four measures per role
For installers: callbacks, tidiness, safety and time. For sellers: quote accuracy, conversion, customer feedback and returns.
2. Record callbacks against the original job
Tag each callback with the person who did the work and the cause. The pattern shows who needs coaching and who is consistently good.
3. Ask the customer one question
A phone call or message a week after installation: is everything working, and was the crew courteous? Keep the answers on a sheet.
4. Hold a quarterly conversation
Twenty minutes with each person: the numbers, one strength, one thing to improve and what help they need.
5. Link outcomes to grades and rewards
Use the record when deciding promotions, increments and who leads the next big job. Say how it will be used before you begin.
Check these first
Before changing anything, find out what is true today. These take an afternoon and use your own records.
- Ask whether a callback is ever traced to the person who did the job.
- Review the last quarter's quotes against actual materials used.
- See if any technician has had feedback on their work in the last six months.
- Check how customer feedback is collected after installation.

Questions owners ask
Not if it is explained as a way to coach and to praise clean work. Share the pattern openly, record causes fairly and include faults that are not the installer's fault, such as faulty products.
Quarterly conversations of about twenty minutes work well in small shops. An annual review alone comes too late for a callback or a bad habit to be corrected.
Yes. One call a week after installation takes a few minutes. Keep it to two questions and write down the replies. Over time they show which people customers trust.
