HR Policy Packages

Three Ways to Get Your HR Policies Written, From Five to Thirty

Choose the size of policy set that fits where your company is today. Each package covers a defined list of policies, drafted in one standard structure with an employee FAQ, a workflow and the forms. You can start small and add policies later, because every package uses the same structure.

What is hr policy packages?

HR policy packages are defined sets of written policies that GullyHR drafts and reviews for a growing company. The Starter package covers five policies, the Core package covers the eleven that most companies need first, and the Complete package covers all thirty. Each policy follows one 16-section structure and comes with an employee FAQ, a process workflow and forms. Drafts go to your own legal adviser for review before they are issued. Each package is scoped and quoted after a short call, so the fee is agreed before work starts.

The starting point

When businesses ask us for this

  • You know you need written policies but cannot tell whether five, ten or thirty is the right number for a company of your size.
  • A quote for the whole set feels too large to approve, so nothing gets written and the same questions keep returning.
  • A bundle of templates has been bought, but nobody has decided the limits, approvals and exceptions that make them yours.
  • The company needs a few policies urgently for a hire, a client audit or a funding round, and the rest can wait.
  • Policies were written one at a time by different people, so they disagree on terms, approvers and notice.
  • You want a fixed scope so that the work, the review and the handover are clear before anyone starts.
  • Leadership wants to see what the full set looks like before committing to it.
  • There is no owner, no version and no review date on the policies you already have.

What the work covers

GullyHR offers its policy drafting service as three packages so that the scope is clear at the start. Starter covers five policies that settle the most common disputes: conduct, attendance and working hours, leave and holiday, probation and confirmation, and disciplinary and grievance. Core covers the eleven policies most companies need in the first stage, adding recruitment, onboarding, salary and payroll process, confidentiality, IT and internet use and prevention of sexual harassment. Complete covers all thirty policies, written in the order agreed with you across three stages. In every package we settle the management choices first, draft each policy in the same 16-section structure, and prepare the employee FAQ, the process workflow and the forms. Confidential matters are set up with restricted case handling. The drafts then go to your own qualified legal adviser. This is drafting and review. It is not legal advice, and the adviser decides what the law requires of you.

Starter covers five policies that settle the most common disputes.

Code of conduct, attendance and working hours, leave and holiday, probation and confirmation, and disciplinary and grievance. For a company that needs written rules quickly and has a small team.

Core covers the eleven policies most companies need first.

Starter plus recruitment and hiring, employee onboarding, salary and payroll process, confidentiality and non-disclosure, IT and internet usage, and prevention of sexual harassment at work.

Complete covers all thirty policies in three stages.

The full set across people, conduct, pay, technology, customers, projects, suppliers and safety, written in the order agreed with you and handed over stage by stage.

Every package uses the same structure and the same extras.

Sixteen sections per policy, an employee FAQ, a process workflow, the forms the policy refers to, a policy register and a list of open points for your legal adviser.

Management choices are settled before drafting.

Limits, approval levels, durations, benefits and exceptions are set out as options with their effects, and recorded as your decisions, in every package.

Packages can grow with the company.

Move from Starter to Core or Complete at any point. Policies already drafted stay as they are and new ones follow the same structure.

The process

How it runs

  1. Choose a package

We talk through your size, stage and urgent needs and recommend Starter, Core or Complete. You can also ask for a custom list from the thirty.

  2. Agree the scope and the order

The policies, the order of drafting and the review points are written down and approved by you before drafting begins.

  3. Settle the management choices

For each policy we set out the decisions that belong to you, with options and effects. You decide and the decision is recorded.

  4. Draft each policy

Each policy is drafted in the standard 16-section structure, with an employee FAQ, a process workflow and the forms it needs.

  5. Review and hand over

The drafts go to your own legal adviser. We mark open points, update the drafts after review and hand over an editable set with a policy register.

  6. Extend when you are ready

When the company grows, further policies are added in the same structure, and the register is updated.

What you receive

  • A written scope listing the policies in your package and the order of drafting.
  • A record of the management choices made for each policy.
  • Each policy drafted in the 16-section structure, in an editable format.
  • An employee FAQ for each policy, in plain language.
  • A process workflow and the forms for each policy that describes a procedure.
  • A policy register showing owner, version and review date.
  • A list of open points for your legal adviser.

Who it is for

  • Small teams that need the first written rules in place before the next hire.
  • Founder-led companies that want a fixed scope and a clear handover for their policy work.
  • Growing businesses preparing for a client review, an audit or an investment round.
  • Companies that have templates but have not decided the choices that make them their own.
  • Leadership teams that want to start small and extend the set as the company grows.

Why GullyHR.

The same company designs HR processes, writes HR documentation, runs day-to-day HR operations for clients that want it and builds the software the work can be tracked in. Policies drafted by us are therefore written with the procedure, the forms and the records in mind. Decisions on policy stay with you, and your own legal adviser has the final word on what the law requires.

  • Design the process

Map how the work runs today, then write the procedure, the forms and the approval route it should follow.

  • Strengthen management

Settle the structure, the roles and the decisions each level can take without the owner.

  • Develop people

Train the managers who have to run it — the review, the difficult conversation, the handover.

  • Automate HR

Configure the agreed process in software, so the document and what people actually do stay the same thing.

The difference

What changes

  • You know exactly which policies are in scope before work starts.
  • The choices that belong to management are decided and recorded for each policy.
  • Every policy follows one structure, whichever package you start with.
  • Employees have a plain FAQ and an acknowledgement form for each policy.
  • Your legal adviser receives clear drafts with open points marked.
  • The set can be extended later without redoing what is already written.

How we are measured

Before work starts, we record where you stand. Every later report compares against that baseline.

We choose the measures with you at the start, from the list on this page, and only the ones your data can support. We do not promise a result. We promise a baseline, and a report that shows the change against it, whichever way it went.

The measures we choose from

  • Time-to-hire

Days from approved vacancy to accepted offer.

  • 90-day attrition

New joiners who leave in their first three months.

  • Annual attrition

Leavers over the year, by team and by manager.

  • Payroll and statutory errors per month

Corrections after the run, and returns filed late.

  • Open compliance gaps

Obligations without an owner or a due date.

  • Employees with written goals

Share of the team that knows what it is measured on.

  • Review completion rate

Reviews finished on time, not just started.

  • Manager training coverage

Managers who have been taught the part of the job they were promoted into.

Where the software fits

Policies are delivered as editable documents with a register. They can be kept in a shared drive, your HR system or the GullyHR software policy and document centre, where each policy sits with its version, review date and employee acknowledgements. Software is a separate decision and is not needed to take a package.

Good to know

Questions we are asked

Most companies with fewer than about fifty people start with Core, because it covers the policies a new hire meets in the first month. Choose Starter if you need rules in place quickly and have a very small team. Choose Complete if you want the full set drafted in order.
