HR reporting and analytics for Hypermarkets: store-level figures on absence, overtime and exits that managers use
Hypermarket managers see sales every day and people data rarely. A simple monthly view of absence, overtime and exits by department shows where to look before a problem becomes a pattern.

HR figures in a large store sit in many places: attendance sheets, overtime logs, exit notes. Nobody puts them together. The store manager knows the dock is struggling, though not that it has lost four people in two months and carries the highest overtime. Department heads rarely see numbers about their own team.
Choose five measures and show them by department each month on one page: absence, overtime hours, exits, open vacancies and transfers in and out. Keep definitions the same. Discuss it in the monthly management meeting, ask for one action per flagged department and check last month's actions. Add one or two numbers only when someone asks.
How to set it up
1. Pick five figures
Absence, overtime hours, exits, vacancies and transfers, by department. Resist adding more until these are trusted.
2. Fix definitions
Write what counts as absence, what counts as an exit and how overtime is measured. Everyone uses the same.
3. Collect from existing records
Use the roster, the overtime log and exit notes. A person in HR or the store office gathers them by the fifth of the month.
4. Discuss in the management meeting
Look at the page for fifteen minutes. For each flagged department, agree one action and an owner.
5. Check last month's actions
Open the next meeting with what was done and what changed. Drop figures nobody uses.
Check these first
Before changing anything, find out what is true today. These take an afternoon and use your own records.
- Ask the store manager for the number of exits in the last quarter and compare with HR records.
- Check whether department heads see their own team's absence and overtime.
- Find which department has the highest overtime and ask why.
- See whether a transfer in or out is counted anywhere.

Questions owners ask
Start with what you have and show the gaps in the first report. Clean data follows once someone uses it. Fix one source at a time, beginning with exits and overtime.
Five or six for the store. More can be added for a specific question. Too many measures on a page hide the one that matters.
Yes, for their own teams. Seeing figures changes behaviour, and heads can explain them better than a central team. Keep personal details out of what is shared widely.
