Roles in facility management

Housekeeping attendant

Cleans offices, corridors, pantries and washrooms at a client site as per the daily checklist. Uses mops, chemicals and trolleys, reports damage and shortages, and works under the site supervisor. The client sees this person more than anyone else in the company.

Scrubber-dryer machine operator

Operates ride-on or walk-behind scrubber-dryers, polishers and vacuums to clean large floors in malls, factories, hospitals and warehouses. Maintains the machine daily and reports faults to the supervisor. Missed batteries and wrong pads damage floors and clients' trust.

Site supervisor

Runs a client site: allots attendants, inspects areas, handles client requests, controls consumables, takes attendance and covers absences. Reports to the area manager and is the first person the client calls.

Area manager

Oversees several client sites in an area: visits and audits sites, deals with clients, controls headcount and cost, arranges relievers and supports supervisors. Reports to the operations head and is the link between the client's facility team and the company.

Pest control service technician

Visits homes, offices, restaurants and factories to inspect, apply treatments for cockroaches, termites, rodents and mosquitoes and complete service reports. Handles chemicals, sprayers and traps and speaks to the customer. Reports to the route coordinator or area lead.

Facade cradle and rope access operator

Cleans and maintains building exteriors, glass facades and signage using suspended cradles, rope access or high-reach equipment. Works at height with a team, follows permits and weather limits, and reports to the crew supervisor.

Gardener and groundskeeper

Maintains lawns, hedges, flower beds, pots and trees on campuses, residential societies and offices. Waters, trims, applies fertiliser and keeps paths and beds neat. Reports to the site supervisor and works with mowers and sprayers.

Customer care and call coordinator

Receives calls and messages from clients and residents, logs service requests, schedules technicians or crews, follows up completion and updates customers. Works from the office and reports to the operations manager.
