Employee onboarding process for Beauty D2C Brands: Learning the Brand Voice in a Fortnight
New advisers, packers and content staff must pick up the products, the tone and the tools fast. A short, planned fortnight keeps mistakes away from customers.

Beauty brands hire in bursts before launches and festive sales. New advisers read a spreadsheet of product information, shadow a colleague for a day and then answer customers. A packer is shown the bench in ten minutes. The brand voice, so carefully built by the founders, depends on whoever trained the newcomer.
A planned fortnight changes the odds. Day one covers who the brand is and what it will not say. The first days teach products through use, not through lists. Tasks are handed over one at a time and checked, and a review at the end of week two decides what the person can do alone.
How to set it up
1. Send a joining note before day one
Include the start time, the dress norm, the person to meet and a short note on the brand's story.
2. Spend day one on the brand and the products
Let the joiner try the range, read the voice guide and hear from a founder or lead about what the brand stands for.
3. Teach tools and templates together
Show the support tool, the order system and the reply templates on live cases, with a buddy next to them.
4. Hand over tasks in steps
Adviser: read, draft, then send with review. Packer: sample kit, gift box, then full orders. Sign off each step.
5. Review at the end of week two
Ask what is clear, listen to a few calls or look at a few packs, and agree what the person handles alone from week three.
Check these first
Before changing anything, find out what is true today. These take an afternoon and use your own records.
- Check whether last quarter's joiners got a written plan for the first fortnight.
- Read a new adviser's first replies and see how close they are to your voice.
- Ask a packer who joined last month what they were told on day one.
- Look for repeated questions from joiners and add them to the guide.

Questions owners ask
Two weeks of structured learning, with a lighter check at the end of the first month. Product knowledge keeps growing, but the first fortnight should give a safe base.
Not alone. Let them read live conversations, draft replies for review and begin with simple questions. Move to the harder ones as sign-offs are earned.
Use video sessions for the brand and product, send a kit with the range, and name a buddy who checks in daily for the first week. The plan should be the same as for the office team.
