Performance management and incentive design for Modular kitchen studios: pay that follows the kitchen to handover
In a kitchen studio the order is closed in the showroom but earned at the site. An incentive plan that follows the kitchen to handover rewards the whole chain and cuts the snag calls that sour a sale.

A designer paid only on orders will close the order, even when the layout is hard to fit. The measurer is blamed for gaps, the installer for faults, and the snag team for what remains. Each part of the chain protects itself, and the customer pays for it.
A better plan keeps the order incentive but adds a share tied to clean delivery: right measurement, boxes that fit, few snags in the first month. Installers and measurers get measures they can influence. Everyone sees the same numbers.
How to set it up
1. Record what goes wrong
List the last fifty snags or reworks and tag the cause: measurement, design, production, delivery or fitting. Show the pattern to the team.
2. Pick a few shared measures
Choose measures such as orders without rework, snag calls in the first month and delivery on the promised date. Keep each simple to count.
3. Split the incentive
Retain a part for orders closed. Add a part paid after handover, based on clean delivery. Explain how installers and measurers share in it.
4. Share results monthly
Put one sheet on the wall with orders, reworks and snags by designer and team. Discuss the reasons, not the blame.
5. Adjust after a quarter
Look at whether people rushed, hid snags or disputed numbers. Change the rule and tell everyone why.
Check these first
Before changing anything, find out what is true today. These take an afternoon and use your own records.
- Count how many snag calls came from known measurement issues.
- Ask an installer what they are rewarded for.
- See whether a designer is paid before the kitchen is delivered.
- Check that snag records are kept with names and causes.

Questions owners ask

Long enough for common problems to appear, often a month or two. Choose a period that suits your products and tell staff in advance.
